A recent conversation I had with my son:

D: I want to live all by myself, not with you or daddy.

Me: Ok, but that means that I won't feed you, help you get dressed, give you a bath, give you kissies, or snuggle with you.

D: Oh.  I'm going to be really sad, but that's ok. I still want to live all by myself.

Oh man!  He's already ready to leave me. :(

Face of God

Recently I have been struggling with something and trying to understand why this has been so heavy on my heart.  I've been praying about it and today I read a devotional from a site which I haven't read in awhile.  I really feel that this is God answering my prayers.

"A servant of God must stand so very much alone that he never realizes he is alone. In the early stages of the Christian life, disappointments will come— people who used to be lights will flicker out, and those who used to stand with us will turn away. We have to get so used to it that we will not even realize we are standing alone. Paul said, ". . . no one stood with me, but all forsook me . . . . But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me . . ." (2 Timothy 4:16-17  ). We must build our faith not on fading lights but on the Light that never fails. When "important" individuals go away we are sad, until we see that they are meant to go, so that only one thing is left for us to do— to look into the face of God for ourselves."

For all my smoking friends

I just wanted to share a bit of knowledge with you, fulfilling my health care duties.

Cigars - are 11 X more carcinogenic than cigarettes.  Even tho you don't inhale, your mouth is very vasculature and can absorb tons! (this is why you see people with cardiac problems pop the nitroglycerin under their tongue).

Cloves - are just as potent as cigarettes but can be more damaging due to the eugenol incorporated into the spice cloves and tobacco.  Eugenol is a naturally found analgesic that can numb you the harsh effects of tobacco, although still happening to your body.

Please... stop smoking... even casually...

80's

I have to thank Kimi for this.  But it brings back so many good memories.  Girls can relate a bit more but there is plenty for the guys to laugh and remember back to... love it!  I have to say that I can relate to or say I owned 95% of these!
